Goodman Pool Scholarships - 2009

The Madison Parks Foundation is pleased to offer financial assistance to individuals, families and social service agencies who may not be in a position to participate due to financial hardship. Funding for swimming lessons and passes is made possible through the generous donations of community members who support The Madison Parks Foundation.

Application

Eligibility

  • All applicants must fill out the scholarship form fully and clearly.
  • All applicants must include a letter of explanation or clarification of their individual circumstance.
  • Youth, ages 13 and under, are eligible for swimming lessons.
  • Immediate family living in the same household or having a joint custody arrangement are eligible for Family Pass Scholarships.
  • Children, ages 7-16, are eligible for a swim team scholarship with permission from the Goodman Pool Director.

Policies

  • If the recipient of the award does not follow the Goodman Pool’s Code of Conduct, the scholarship may be revoked.
  • Scholarships have no cash or refund value.
  • Scholarships are only valid in the year they are awarded.
  • Scholarships, season passes and day passes may only be used by the family or persons to whom they were awarded.
  • Scholarships are non-transferable.

Award Process

  • All applicants must fill out the form completely and include a separate letter of explanation.
  • Scholarship applications are due no later than June 9. Applications received after that date will be put on a waiting list for available funds.
  • Members of the Madison Parks Foundation review all applications. The committee will award on the basis of need. Full and partial scholarships may be awarded.
  • A letter will be sent to the Recipient of the scholarship.
  • The Recipient may then bring the scholarship award letter to Goodman Pool to redeem.
  • If the scholarship award is a swimming lesson, you may only register your child for a class after the scholarship is awarded. If you register and pay for your child to attend a swimming class, the scholarship may not be used toward that class.
  • There are no refunds. You may use the scholarship to register your child for another swimming class.
